Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center

The holiday season officially kicks off with the lighting of the tree at Rockefeller Center and the Ice Skating Show at the foot of Promethius. Whether you witness the actual lighting or go to visit the tree on a less crowded night between the lighting and the end of the first week of January, it is a truly spectacular event, not to be missed. Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Pilgrims, turkeys, and the Macy’s parade; perhaps the most iconic symbols of Thanksgiving. Instead of watching the spectacle on the television, why not head out to watch in person.

The parade route passes from 77th Street on Central Park West all the way down to Columbus Cicrle, heads down Broadway past Macy’s, and turns west onto 34th Street where it ends at 7th Avenue. Public viewing locations are at Columbus Circle, Broadway between 38th and 58th Streets and on 34th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue. Dress warmly, but remember, due to new security measures, backpacks, bags, are not allowed.


New York City Comedy Festival
