Shakespeare in the Park
The Public Theatre and The Delacorte Theater in Central Park are presenting a summer of Shakespeare with performances of Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Nights Dream. Tickets are free and available on the day of the performance from The Delacorte starting at 1pm or you can collect tickets between 1-3 at The Public Theatre Box office at 425 LaFayette. Lines form hours before hand so get there early.

Puerto Rican Day Parade
June 10th
One of the largest parades of the year, the Puerto Rican Day Parade attacks three million people annually who come to celebrate the largest ethnic group in the City. Starting at 85th Street, the parade runs down Fifth Avenue to 44th Street.

JVC Jazz Festival

The JVC Jazz Festival is one of the most prestigious jazz fests in the world. Lesbian and Gay Pride March
June 27th
The parade is only a part of the week long event commemorating the Stonewall Riot. Designed to both celebrate gay and lesbian people and inform the general public about their issues, the events include street fairs, parties, and fireworks.
